City of Covington Water Services Update

December 26, 2022

A Message to Our Valued City of Covington Water Customers

We have experienced numerous reports of customers with broken pipes within the water system. This has caused a record-level water demand. If you have busted pipes, please call 770-385-2000 to report it. We will assist you in shutting your water meter off that is located at the street. Once you or a plumber has made the necessary repairs, your water service can be restored.

Also, if you suspect there is a water leak/main break in your area of the City due to standing/leaking water, please contact 770-385-2000 to report it so crews can be dispatched to check out the situation. Thank you in advance for your assistance in such reports.

For those running water to protect vulnerable pipes from freezing, allow a small trickle of water to run from the faucets. You do not need to run the water at more than a trickle. If you are going out of town, have someone inspect your home to ensure that your water service is okay. As the temperatures slowly increase over the next week, please inspect your water system to make sure you do not have any issues.

Please help us protect and conserve our precious water resources. We greatly appreciate your assistance and understanding.

Thank you,
City of Covington
