Qualifying for 2025 Election: City Council Posts

Three City of Covington City Council posts will be on the ballot for the November 4, 2025 election.

During the November 4, 2025 election, the below City Council posts will be on the ballot:
 
  • Council Post #1​​ East Ward
  • Council Post #2 ​​West Ward
  • Council Post #3 ​​West Ward

 

The qualifying fees for these posts are three percent (3%) of the annual salary of the office or $360.00, payable by personal check, cashier’s check, or money order.
 
To qualify for the above offices, a notice of candidacy must be filed in the office of the Newton County Board of Elections and Registration located at 8134 Geiger Street NW no earlier than Monday, August 18, 2025 beginning at 8:30 AM and no later than noon on August 22, 2025.
