GAS REBATES
The City of Covington is proud to offer its customers the Gas Advantage Rebate Program. By offering rebates toward the purchase and installation of various gas appliances, the city is making the difficult decision about energy choice easier for its customers. The city offers the following rebates to qualified customers:
- Gas Water Heaters, Tankless Gas Water Heaters, or Gas Generators… $300
- Gas Range, Gas Clothes Dryer, Gas Logs, Gas Lights, or Gas Grill… $50
To qualify, customers must meet the following criteria:
- The property at the address of installation must currently have natural gas service provided by the City of Covington Natural Gas Distribution System, or it must have City gas lines adjacent to the location so new service can be installed.
- Must be the owner of the property on which the new appliances will be installed.
- Must be either a new installation or an alternate fuel to gas conversion (i.e., propane or electric water heating/ cooking to natural gas water heating/ cooking, etc.)
- Installations must meet local code and must pass inspection by a City or County inspector.
- All utility payment must be current with a utility payment history in good standing (must not have had a service interruption due to non-payment of bill during the last twelve months).
- A completed, signed application (including inspector’s signature) must be received at City Hall by the expiration date found on Part II of the application.
Once the application is approved, a rebate check will be mailed no more than ten business dates from the date of approval. For more information, please call Stacy Walden at 770-385-2027.

ON BILL FINANCING
The City of Covington is proud to offer its customers On Bill Financing options for certain energy-efficient gas and electric appliance purchases for 60 months at zero percent interest. Gas appliance purchases are limited at $7,500, and electric appliance purchases are limited at $5,000 (note electric AC units must be rated 16 seer or higher). There is a $3/ month administrative fee. For more information, please reach out to customer service at 770-385-2000.
