​Your first stop in Covington should be the Visitor Information Center where you can find information on everything to see and do during your visit.

  • Maps of the downtown shopping district and surrounding areas are available and are very helpful in navigating Covington and ensuring you don't miss any attractions.
  • A must see for visitors is to visit location sites for the “Dukes of Hazzard,” "Vampire Diaries," “In the Heat of the Night” and many other movie sites. This self-guided informational brochure can also be found in the Visitor Center
  • Visitors will also want to pick up a guide listing restaurants, banks, local shopping and other important information.
  • Many visitors enjoy seeing the gorgeous, historic homes found in the self-guided Home Tour brochure.

Once you have information in hand, you are ready to explore Covington. You will be able to enjoy the local shopping options including antiques, an art gallery and a gift and home store. Make sure you save time to eat in one of the restaurants located downtown where you will find food to satisfy any taste.

Covington offers many recreational activities such as fishing, bird watching, cycling and hiking. Car Shows and concerts are held on the downtown square throughout spring and into fall.

Chargepoint EV Charging Station Available in Covington

The City of Covington is excited to announce the installation of an EV charging station at the Welcome Center (1143 Oak Street SE)! With a 25 RPH (miles of Range Per Hour), the charging station is capable of charging two EV's at a time and it is free to use.
