Live, Work, Create and Play!

The weekend of June 6-9, 2024, there will be a convention in town centered around "The Vampire Diaries," a television show filmed in Covington.  The theme of the convention is "A June Wedding," based on a wedding from the TVD universe.  Throwing some fun into the mix for our citizens and visitors, we endeavored to create a reception like event on the Square for everyone to enjoy!

We will start at the Covington Welcome Center, located at 1143 Oak Street SE, with a second line brass band that will march to the Square to then enjoy a free concert by Chris, Jon & Scott, sponsored by The Social Goat and Vampire Stalkers.

What is a second line band? The “second line” refers to the spectators who join or follow the main line and contribute to the walking parade. This is what separates a second line from any other parade: groups are not only welcome but encouraged to follow along, allowing the second line to grow as it marches, in this case, in celebration of a wedding!
