In partnership with Keep Newton Beautiful and Newton County Solid Waste, please look at the flyer to see times, dates, and location addresses for drop off at the Cook Road Convenience Center (final day for drop off is Saturday, 1/3/26 by 5 PM) or at Legion Field (final day for drop off is 1/9/26 by 10 AM).

Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) Board Public Hearing

The HPC makes recommendations to Mayor and Council on specific places, sites, districts, buildings and structures to be designated by ordinance as historic properties or historic districts.

The purpose of the Planning Commission is to review and make recommendations to Mayor and Council on proposed amendments to the comprehensive plan, zoning ordinance, official zoning map, and applications for special use permits. CPC meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Board of Appeals & Adjustments (BOAA) Public Hearing

The BOAA has the powers to hear and decide variances and to hear appeals on decisions of the Planning and Development Department. Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
