Faith and Blue Weekend Activities & Project ReNeWal Donation Drive
The 2022 Faith and Blue weekend is October 7-10, 2022 and the Covington Police Department is participating in some activities to celebrate the occasion including seeking donations for Project ReNeWal.
October 04, 2022
Faith & Blue is based on the premise that strong communities are built through mutual respect and understanding. Law enforcement and faith institutions are key pillars of each community, and when they work together, neighborhoods thrive.
Faith and Blue is four days of locally organized community-officer engagement as part of the nation’s largest annual collaborative policing initiative.
As part of the Covington Police Department’s 2022 Faith and Blue initiative, the CPD will be collecting everday supplies needed by Project ReNeWal, a domestic violence intervention program serving Rockdale, Newton and Walton counties.
When individuals leave abusive relationships or households, they sometimes have to leave everything behind. We are asking for your help to assist these individuals in starting a new life, to help in healing, by donating everyday items that are needed to start over. Please see the list on the back for items needed.
Any donation helps and could change the life of someone...it could even save someone’s life...people often return to abusive relationships because they do not know how they will survive on their own, how they will access even the smallest of everyday items that we often take for granted. Please select the image below to see a list of items needed.
There are boxes at City Hall (2194 Emory Street NW, 30014) and the CPD (13183 Harland Drive, 30014) for donated items and there will be a drive up, donation drop off on the Square on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
