Fire Devastates Building in Downtown Covington

A fire broke out on the evening of Friday, August 25, 2023 destroying one building and causing water and smoke damage to several other surrounding businesses.

The fire has caused a great deal of damage to businesses located on the west side of Monticello Street in downtown Covington.  Pedestrians are not allowed on the sidewalks on the west side of Monticello or the east side of Hendricks.  Businesses on the east side of Monticello are still open.

 

Below is a list of the businesses impacted by the fire, some with a total loss of space and product while others have losses due to water and/or smoke damage.

Also impacted are the owners of each of these buildings. We ask that you continue to keep these merchants, organizations, and most importantly the people in your thoughts and prayers. And thank you again to all of the citizens, businesses, surrounding public safety organizations and City teams that have been incredibly supportive during this time.
