The Dreams of a People: Celebrating Black History Month Student Art Exhibit

In celebration of Black History Month 2024, the City of Covington has various activities scheduled for February.

February 12, 2024

In honor of Black History month, the City of Covington invited Newton County School students, with the assistance of BOE representative Karen Anderson, Ed.S, to submit artwork for an art exhibit entitled "Dreams of a People: Celebrating Black History Month."

Over 40 students contributed art work in various mediums and these pieces of art are on display from February 12 - February 15, 2024 in the Legion Field Building (3173 Mill Street NE) from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The final day for the art exhibit is Friday, February 16, 2024 and it will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will also be food trucks at Legion Field starting at 5:30 p.m. to purchase snacks and food as we lead into our Magnolia Drive-In at 7 p.m. featuring the movie Black Panther.
