Soldiers from the Army National Guard's Blacksheep Company will be deploying this weekend for an almost year long deployment overseas. Join the community in cheering them on for a proper sendoff.

January 24, 2024

CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

Per the unit commanders, the public portion of the sendoff ceremony was cancelled as of Friday, January 26, 2024.

On Saturday, January 27, 2024, join the community for a Sendoff Ceremony honoring the Army National Guard soldiers of Bravo Company 1-121 Infantry as they prepare for deployment. Blacksheep Company will begin marching from the National Guard Armory, located on Carroll Street, up Clark Street to the Square at 11:35 a.m. Upon arriving on the Square, at approximately 11:55 a.m., they will stand in formation and a guest speaker will address the soldiers and families at noon. The soldiers will then march around the Square and back to the Armory.

Come out and support these soldiers, as they prepare to leave their families and homes for at least nine months, by lining Clark Street and the Square, rain or shine. Be in place along the route by 11:25 a.m. due to the road closures outlined below.

Carroll Street and Clark Street will be closed to traffic, starting around 11:25 a.m. and the Square will also close to traffic during the ceremony. A rolling closure will accompany the soldiers as they return to the armory. The weather forecast is predicting showers, but regardless of the rain, we want to show the soldiers of Blacksheep Company our appreciation for their service.

Please share this information with your friends and neighbors and plan on coming out this Saturday, January 27th, to fortify and encourage the men and women of Blacksheep Company.
