Water Department
Welcome to the City of Covington Water & Sewer Construction Department! The Water Department consists of 13 dedicated people with various degrees and state licenses. These qualified associates have over 100 years of experience in the Water & Sewer Construction field.
Our water system is comprised of the most state of the art equipment and facilities that provide services for approximately 7,700 residential, 800 commercial and 40 Industrial customers. The department services water main sizes from 2” to 30” pipe. We have over 156 miles of water main that serve customers both inside and outside the city limits. Furthermore, the city has over 100 miles of sanitary sewer lines. Both Water and Sewer systems have been in operation since 1910.
The department has a variety of equipment for cleaning the sewer system including a remote controlled robotic camera. The camera operates from a computer module located in the rear of the work vehicle and has the capability to see 360 degrees in color. This is one of the many diagnostic tools the department has to inspect and service sewer lines.
With a qualified, state-licensed staff on call 24 hours a day seven days a week, the City of Covington operates to insure that each citizen has uninterrupted water and sewer service 365 days a year!
